Peer Mentoring

Another important aspect of the Youth with Purpose program is a “Peer Mentoring” component.  Peer Mentors are outstanding youth in the upper grade levels who have found a way to achieve success in school – and care enough to pass those lessons along to their peers – a friend, a guide, a coach, a role model. As a group with specific responsibilities, these students elect officers and meet regularly to support each other. Youth who serve may gain the following benefits:
• Respect for others
• Learn to be helpful and kind
• Learn new skills
• Develop leadership skills
• Learn to understand people who're different
• Become better people
